I am skilled in the following areas of TV production:
- Reality TV
I would like to gain further experience in the following areas:
I feel that my energy and passion would come across well working within youth TV. Programs such as T4 shaped my teenage years and drawing on my many interests, I could present them with flair and enthusiasm.
My interest in other subjects such as Travel, Nature, and Sports would endorse this passion and presenting on these issues, potentially targeting a youth audience, would ideally suit me to the Discovery Channel, Animal Planet or National Geographic. Having grown up living around the world, I know the ins and outs of travelling like the back of my hand and working on a gap year/adventure program like Australia's 'Hamish and Andy's Gap Year' could draw on this, particularly as going travelling on a gap year is so popular in the UK at the moment.
With the launch of BT Sport, I feel the range of sporting programs is going to increase. Touch Rugby is very much an up and coming sport in the UK and I would love to get involved in the online video content associated with it. Having played Tough Rugby in tournaments across Asia, I have the understanding of how the sport works to provide key facts while approaching it with a fun and enthusiastic attitude to help increase the sport's popularity.
My knowledge of all things showbiz and celebrity gossip would make me a brilliant presenter for channels such as MTV or E! Network, and I would work well interviewing a range of people at different events from red carpets to music festivals due to my energetic personality and desire to ask some interesting but slightly cheeky questions - everyone wants to know if Simon Cowell had to choose to be any type of biscuit, what he would pick! (I reckon he'd go for a Jaffa Cake). Programs such as the End of Series Wrap Party for Made in Chelsea, Xtra Factor, Britain's Got More Talent and Big Brother's Big Mouth would give me the opportunity to convey my interest in these programs and their subjects to an audience.
State your attraction to the TV industry
The attraction to the television industry for me comes from how much I love watching TV why get into an industry where you do not appreciate the product! My determination to succeed is proven from my drive to go out and find work experience opportunities university and since. Alongside my studies in Drama and Theatre Arts, I completed work placements with the BBC, Cactus TV, and Sky Sports Rugby, as well as volunteering my time to help at Embarrassing Bodies and a Blue Peter Roadshow Event. At the same time, I was also the Production Manager for my university'Âs student run TV station involving a combination of supervising filming, administration and of course, presenting in front of the camera.
How do you relax?
Travel, Sports, Performing and Wildlife. Four things that make me who I am.
I always seek out the adventures new places have to offer whether it's abseiling down rock faces in Perth, Australia, zip wiring through the Thai Rainforest or climbing Mount Kinabalu in Borneo. Forget sitting around a nice hotel when you're abroad - finding local cafes hidden down alleyways and doing some adrenaline filled activities is the way forward!
Since school I have always enjoyed playing in sports teams and have competed throughout Europe and Asia in Touch Rugby, Volleyball, Basketball and Hockey. I also love to ski and sail and will never miss the chance to watch England play a Rugby 6 Nations match!
Dancing in the London 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony was an unbelievable experience. All the hard work of travelling between London and Birmingham for rehearsals every weekend was forgotten the second I stepped out into the Olympic Stadium that evening -Â the epitome of why I adore performing.
Working with Sunbears, Tigers, Monkeys and Elephants as a volunteer in Thailand enhanced my love for wildlife, even if a lot of it involved shovelling poo, I can'Ât wait to ride on an elephant again.
