Broadcasters are looking for people who know their audience, can recognise a good story or idea and turn it into good programme material. Although you may be attracted by a particular area of TV or radio, the programme makers of tomorrow will need to work across different media and understand how to package ideas for different markets.
Imagination and ideas. An instinct for a good story. Communications skills, writing and IT skills. Initiative, motivation, and dedication.
There are some common routes in this business, but, by and large you carve your own career according to your interests and skills.
