Works on the studio floor to pass on the directors intentions to the cast and any crew who is not listening to the director on production talk-back (headphones)

Qualities: What you need to be able to do the job

Good communication skills, sensitivity to people and situations, problem-solving, lateral thinking, ability to work swiftly and safely under pressure, and the ability to keep calm and think straight is essential.

Important to have an understanding of, and respect for other people's roles in the production.

Career path: How you start and where you can go with it.

From AFM to floor manager, may well progress to production management and directing.
